Designed for players who are new to chess or still developing a solid foundation. If you know how the pieces move but want to start playing with purpose and confidence, this is your starting point.
Classes cover the essentials: basic tactical patterns, fundamental endgame technique, and how to build a plan from a position. The goal is to give every student a clear framework for thinking at the board.
Instruction is led by CM Gabriel Pinales, former Puerto Rico Chess Champion and one of the island's most experienced chess educators, with additional sessions with GM Luka Budisavljević, the only resident Grandmaster in Puerto Rico and one of the strongest young players in the world.
